It was late October and I was on my way to the Sawtooth Lake to catch the last bits of Fall before the snow fell. As I approached the lake I made a wrong turn and I came upon this wonderful scene. I quickly scrambled out of my vehicle to take notes and do a few small sketches and snap a couple of photographs. I returned home and taking all the sketches and photos into the studio, I created this studio painting was created. This painting is done in oil using impressionist colors and very direct brushwork.
